The ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) characteristics of Baby Girl _ DH_M

The consultant was visiting families and met some Parents there, finding Baby Girl _ DH_M andobserved her with specific interest. He proposed to treat her. The Parents were amazed and agreed. To be mentioned that, during that period, ASD was not that much known issues in that part of the world and In KSA, it was very limited for the working families there to avail necessary supports.
Baby Girl _DH_M was at her 4 – years and 11 – months’ at the time NSFA Consultant met her The Baby Girl DH_N had severe ASD features.
- Could not produce any words, simply will put her fingers in her mouth and run around.
- Words were absent.
- Presented poor eye contacts and very little engagements.
- Had minimal locomotor capabilities.
- No pencil gripping was possible by right hand as it was always at her mouth.
- Hand – writing and drawing pictures were equally difficult.

Dear NSFA Consultant,
Baby Girl _DH_M was born in 12th July 2000.
Baby Girl _DH_M is growing Mash Allah in terms of health and education as well. But her learning has some observations. Like MEMORIZATION of lessons, Recognition of various colors etc. Off course, she can write OA, AHH, etc. And 1 to 10 numbers.
Baby Girl _DH_M ‘s ATTENTION in school classes and private lessons increased but MEMORIZATION, RECOGNITION has not increased in the same pace. Example, as of today she is able to memorize numbers up to 40 (except 2/3 numbers). But if you ask her to find which number is what then she will be able to answer very few!
“Bed wetting”. Almost every night she is found in bed wetting. During daytime frequent visitor in urinals/toilet.
Baby Girl _DH_M is very fast in learning SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR. Example when she goes with her mother in different parties and social or educational gatherings, she copies a lot of behaviors. Like, how to receive people, how to greet, how to address, how to command and control. All these she also imitates when she returns at home.
Once she talks some one, she remembers him/her, even their voices. Again, when they call over phone she can recognize the CALLER. IRONY is, she can’t recognize color!!
Sentence preparation: Now a days she can prepare sentences with 4/5 words. Even more words. Off course, some of the words are not correctly uttered (like 4/5 years babies).
IGO Sometimes she tries to insist us to do some works, which she can also do! Example sometimes she calls us to prepare her bed or to fix her socks, which normally she does by herself. If we don’t do she cries. We, off course try to avoid responding these types of IGOISMS.
Baby Girl _DH_M took her medicine last on, 7th March 2009.
We all are grateful to ALLAH for HIS mercy on Baby Girl _DH_M and us. We all remember also your and (Spouse of NSFA Consultant) efforts behind Baby Girl _DH_M . We hope and pray that ALLAH showers HIS blessings upon you all as reward.
We remain,
Baby Girl _DH_M , Parents and the family
